Well, we had mini summer in March, now April has been a wash out but hey, we’re thinking positive so fingers crossed that Summer is going to be at least dry, if not scorchio. Just a quick update on festivals and things we’re doing this year.
We’re working with Hexham Community Partnership after our great success at Spook Night last Halloween. We’ll be attending all their events starting with the St George’s day Festival and Book Fair this Saturday, 28th April. I won’t list all the others now or this will be an essay not a blog, but, as always we’ll keep you up to date if you follow us on Twitter & like us on Facebook.
We’ll be at the inaugural North East Chilli Festival (http://www.chillifest-ne.co.uk on 7/8 July.) Showcasing some of the regions finest food producers & delis, including mmm_newcastle and Hot Stuff Chilli Company, this is guaranteed to be hot whatever the weather. We’re working on a couple of Specials for this, they will also be hot.
And other than that the rest of the Summer is taken up with weddings. These are both business and pleasure as family and friends take the plunge and we cook up some wood fired pizza for evening do’s. So if you’re thinking of getting hitched, check out our Catering section and see what we can offer you instead of the usual burnt pig in a bap.
Proved Woodfired Pizza are proud to announce our first publicity shoot!
We’re featured in the latest copy of Appetite magazine. The piece is about the various foody delights you can now find at the Quayside Market in Newcastle, including of course, yours truly and our amazing wood fired pizza. Appetite is distributed free in café’s and the like around the North East so you may well have seen this picture of us presenting our lovely pink Fluffy Nut sweezza.
Mr & Mrs Proved
Thanks to Rosie from Appetite for the article and Pete the photographer for the pics too. You can see these and check out his other great work at http://www.photo-psp.co.uk/
So if you haven’t been down to the Quayside Market since the days of tea towels n tat, check it out folks.
Winter is upon us after a brief respite in November. We’re huddling around the oven for warmth each week at the market, it’s lovely and cozy but we could do without the arctic blasts. Anyway, we’ve just taken delivery of our seasonal stash of logs from our new supplier, the Woodfuel Centre at Sleekburn in Northumberland.
The Woodfuel Centre is a social enterprise run by the Charity Blythstar Enterprises which supports people with mental health problems. We’re more than happy to put in a big shout out for the Woodfuel Centre whose logs are not only top quality and perfect for burning as the moisture content is so low, but also because the centre helps vulnerable people by providing support, training and employment opportunities.
So if you’re after quality logs then look no further as you can keep warm and put something back in to the community at the same time. Perfect.
Happy Christmas everybody and here’s to a great 2012!
